About Samantha

September 18th, 2007 by admin

Samantha is an accidental food professional, her formal education consisting of a B.S. in Business from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.  She likes to cook so much she does it all day at work (currently at Green Harvest Food Emporium in Easton, PA), and then often cooks some more at home.  She’s been a cook and baker for hire since 1995, when she got her first food-related job during college, stuffing mushrooms and baking pies for a gourmet farm market.

Samantha feels that eating and cooking are fundamental to enjoying life.  Culinary pursuits are inherently noble, not necessarily fancy, exotic, or expensive.  That’s not to say there’s not a place in this world for foie gras, truffles, Iberico ham, and the like, because, oh boy, there sure is.  But there’s also a place in this world for apple pie and macaroni and cheese.  Samantha abhors snobbery, especially in food.

This blog will revolve mostly around the informal cooking Sam does at home for her husband, dog, family, and friends.  She hopes you like it.
